Our grandparents Seth and Arwen had 3 children, Our father Vareem Ha-Keel and his twin brother Nar Shukan and our other Uncle Mykel Our father united with our mother Ayana and had 8 children in all, 7 younger brothers and myself. I was about 10 when the boys started to arrive and had been an only child up until then, so I was old enough to help with the raising of them and learned very quickly what it was like to care for children. Not much later I united with a free companion and had 6 children, Vareem, Arwen, DeathStalker, Whitefeather, RedOhm, and Karen. My mother and father had their last child (Bramanuk, just after I had my first (Vareem). Life was good. The two boys grew together and thrived. Then while I was carrying Arwen, our parents were killed. It was not a happy time for our family the persons responsible we never found though we knew whom it was. I was there, saw it all, from behind a curtain, lucky I was not killed also. I remember mother screaming with pain as they made father watch her die I watched also, she died slowly and father saying they would not get away with this. Then they killed him. I stayed there in my hiding place as father had instructed me watching, holding back my tears until I was sure all the perpetrators had left our home. Then after I checked to see if either of my parents still breathed, which they did not, I ran to find my brothers, my son and our uncles. I told them what I had seen and what was said. Our uncle, Nar Shukan, (dad's twin) was not at all happy with the fact that our father wanted me to continue to raise the boys if anything ever happened to the 2 of them. He, Uncle Nar Shukan, would not have it that way and insisted he raise them himself and I and Uncle Mykel argued and thought I had won. Then one night as we all slept, Uncle Nar Shukan, took my brother Seth (the eldest of the boys) and left never to return. We had not seen or heard anything of either of them for years; we did get word when Uncle Nar Shukan was killed by the same ones that had killed our parents, but no word on Seth. I raised the other 5 boys as if they were my own children until they were old enough to care for themselves All seemed well, the boys learned all they needed to keep our family and camp together and safe. The other Rarius of camp taught them to fish and hunt, to spar, and defend our home, how to handle and care for weapons. I taught them they could be gentle and tough at the same time. When Bersus was old enough he grew restless and became a wanderer, he left to travel as he was not interested in the scarlet caste and wanted to learn another trade. We had not seen him until recently, when he returned for our brother Shakar's funeral, though we got word of his travels from time to time, as did Seth though not many knew other than me for awhile - some thought they knew others dismissed it. Soth went on to become Ubar of our camp since he is the eldest son here I was Ubara of sorts until he was old enough to take over and run the camp and take a FC of his own. She, Tang'hota is a wonderful woman, gentle and kind, but strong as a Rarius. As she has fought along side of my Soth and proved this more than once. Denkisti, the quiet one, we do not see or hear much from him, but he is always there when the need arises. Shakar, my sweet Shakar, he helped Soth run this camp right up until his untimely death at the hands of that sleen Luchon a once trusted friend. Whitetiger, one of the young ones... off learning to fight in another land .. (hoping he returns soon) Baby Bramanuk, though now all grown up will always be my baby, (he was still a baby when mother and father died). So sweet and innocent of much of life yet a strong and agile warrior as any I have seen with a bow. Then there are my children Vareem, my eldest, My fathercalled him his light... He told me many times that this boy would go far. He is now camp second here at Kataii and named after my grandfather's brother a strong name, as is the man that wears it. He has grown up and united with Iona and they had the first of my grandchildren, twins (the first of this generation) then she (Iona) killed herself and he is doing well raising them with out her. One day he will find love again. Arwen grew up beautiful and is off in another land with her love. DeathStalker is off training in the defensive arts with our allies. RedOhm is now camp 1st sword and United with a wonderful girl Alexis. and hopefully working on my next grandchildren. Karen my baby trained as a healer as am I, has finally found love and just united with Valkal, Ubar of Kassar. This joining will seal the mixing of 2 camps and our ally Growing up without a father was a chore. Luckily I had my uncles to help me learn all I would need to survive and prosper as an honorable Rarius. With Their help, I have risen through the chain of command to become what I am today. What I hope is considered an Honorable Rarius and Second in command to My Uncle Seth. He and Uncle Sha'kar have taught Me to be as such. Finding Iona was
what I had thought was true love until she killed herself. Having my
son Vareem Sha'kar, of who is named after my Uncle Sha'kar in his honor,
and Hunter Kailla, my daughter, have brought Me great happiness. The
day Iona died was not a very happy one for me, however my girl vella
has taken over in helping me to raise them. With her help and that of
my mother and uncles I am sure they will grow and prosper as I have.
I hope to one-day turn over my title to my son and see my daughter become
an Ubara as my dear sister Karen has done. |
